Congratulations are indeed in order for SMG ® founder and visionary, Fred Willis who was selected as the 2015 Prayzefactor Award Radio Programmer of the Year. We would like to thank you all for your votes and support during the voting season of this Prayzefactor Awards cycle. We are also tremendously grateful for all the opportunities the PG Network has afforded SoulProsper Radio. When Fred ventured out into the wily world of syndication, The PG Network welcomed him with open arms. The show has grown and the station is thriving but Fred has never forgotten where he got his start away from Studio A where he records. Fred and SoulProsper Radio have been a part of award winning stations Midday/True Praise Radio (Rhythm of Gospel, 2014 Internet Radio Station of the Year) and the Prayzefest Gospel Network (Rhythm of Gospel, 2015 Gospel Radio/Internet Promotion & Marketing Group of the Year); 2014 Stellar Awards (Internet Radio Station of the Year, nomination). This is Fred's first solo award and we celebrate him and thank God for this tremendous blessing! Thanks to all of you that tune in to the station and various networks which host the SoulProsper Radio as part of their programming lineup each day/week. We pray God's blessings over you and thank you, dearly! From Fred...Will you check this out?!? Talk about full circle. The first station to ever give the SoulProsper Radio Show a chance is also the first to award the show!Fred Willis is the Prayze Factor People's Choice Awards Season 7 Radio Programmer of the Year SoulProsper Radio. The beautiful ladies of Chos3nSocial media is amazing isn't it? In 2012 I decided to venture out into the world of internet radio. I didn't know a single thing about it except that people were listening everyday. I mean, people were sitting at work listening to music and even talk shows as they worked. Crazy, I know! As I built the show and discussed everyday topics, something happened. People were checking it out. I had an audience...like three people. Well, a little more than that but you get the point. No, really, maybe 10 people at the most. I reached out to personal friends and asked if I could use their music on the show. I knew nobody on earth wanted to listen to a radio preacher for an hour with no music to buffer the teaching. So...as my friends gave me their permission I noticed that I was running out of new music. My search went to social media, Facebook and even LinkedIn. This is where the story gets interesting. I met one Juliette Farrell on LinkedIn when she responded to one of my posts about music for the show. We went back and forth and one final message to Juliette netted the response I was hoping for. She was out the country (England) and would send the track when she got back. Well she finally sent the track and instanly I had a new favorite musical group, Chos3n. Chos3n is comprised of a trio of ladies in Birmingham, England who have come together to sing and lift Jesus in a community that has no gospel music scene. Juliette Farrell, Andrea Baker Reid and Jamila King make up Chos3n, currently celebrating their debut release. "Make Me A Believer" is the first single from the album and continues to be a favorite here on SoulProsper Radio. Chos3n was the first of many international artists to share their music with SoulProsper Radio and have remained close throughout each shift and change from a single show to syndication to now a 24 hour stream of gospel/Christian programming. I am proud to announce that Chos3n has been nominated for a MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Award in the "Best Gospel Act" category. Join me and vote for Chos3n as 2015 MOBO Awards "Best Gospel Act". You can also purchase their debut album available on Daisy Records "We Are Chosen" on iTunes or on CDBaby.com. Stay tuned for more about my favorite group in the UK! 'Fred |
