Tory Humphrey, free agent Tight End is using his hands to catch Christian churches and organizations from closing their doors to the public. Tory knows firsthand about setbacks. As the beginning stages of his young NFL career was plagued with multiple injuries. It was Tory’s faith that enabled him to get through those rough patches in his life.

Tory wants to take his off the field talent of business development and graphic design to help those struggling in the Christian community. He wants to help them win against the financial opposition challenging them to keep their doors open through the week, especially on Sunday morning.

While Tory awaits another opportunity to suit up for organized football. He has been assisting various Christian Organizations rebrand themselves to enter the marketplace. His company, Project 1 Design is a young company that has a mature approach to business, and passion for serving others. Project 1 Design has launched “Start Your Own T-shirt Business,” where the goal of the young company is to flood the apparel market with positive and inspirational T-shirts.

The largest Gospel Music gathering will soon be underway.  The Gospel Music Workshop Of America 47th Annual Convention is set to surge into Atlanta, GA July 26 - August 1.  In its forty-seventh year, the GMWA was founded in 1967 by Rev. James Cleveland as a means to bring people together who love gospel music.  Delegates, supporters and industry executives from all over the world participate in the conference, academic music and ministry sessions, live recordings and new artist showcases.  

The Gospel Announcers Guild (GAG), an affiliate of the GMWA, will host a series of industry roundtables and panel discussions focusing on radio, marketing, social media and music ministry. She is the voice of her generation and with her declaration "I Shall Live", Dana Hemphill is poised to take the gospel music industry by storm! The plans of the Lord are perfect and complete. Hemphill intimated that though her journey is replete with challenging moments, her faith continues to grow. She is now ready to share her declaration with the world, telling of the goodness of the Lord. Whether ministering on stage or leading worship, Hemphill’s ‘offering’ reaches the Heavens. Hemphill’s scriptural reference and declaration are derived from Psalm 118:17 and the she has a mighty declaration for the people of God.

Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and the No. 1 cause of preventable disability. More than 100,000 African-Americans will suffer a new or reoccurring stroke this year, which is why participants of the Most Powerful Voices competition receive stroke information. The sooner fans vote, the sooner they can help close the gap on racial disparities through stroke awareness.

“Stroke is a leading cause of severe, long-term disability and death for all Americans, and African-Americans are at increased risk due to higher prevalence of risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes and previous heart attack and/or stroke,” said Dr. Rani Whitfield, a family practitioner in Baton Rouge, La., and an American Stroke Association spokesperson. “We need to reach as many people as possible to help them to reduce their risk and to know what to do in a stroke emergency to help improve stroke outcomes.”

Most Powerful Voices is an initiative of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Power To End Stroke cause campaign aimed at African-Americans, who are disproportionately affected by stroke. Power To End Stroke strives to close the stroke gap through culturally relevant events, tools and educational resources.
