In Memory of Mr. David Joubert, Sr.
In June 2006 I made my first trip overseas as a musician with the Glory Gospel Singers. The 'boss' Phyliss Joubert is my very good friend Charles McCampbell's aunt. He was very gracious to recommend me to the company. From there, I traveled to Europe three more times (a total of four times) as musician for GGS.
In 2012 & 2013 I was invited back as bandleader for the group in Japan and it was perhaps the greatest experience of my life. On my last trip to Japan, I was finally able to meet the other half of the braintrust at McKoy/Joubert,LLC and D&P Joubert LLC Worldwide, Mr. David Joubert,Sr.
He was dapper, he was debonair...he was a quiet strength! It was amazing to see Mr. and Mrs "J" together. I left the trip thinking 'that's how I want my marriage to be!" I was so inspired by them that I actually began to reshape my thinking to reflect what I'd seen between the two of them. A trustworthy husband and a virtuous wife. I am that much better after only about one week in his presence.
Weeks after our return home, we got news that he transitioned and is no longer with us. Today we take special time to celebrate him and mourn his passing. The SoulProsper Media Group has made an official statement and has shared it below.

Wherefore seeing as it has therefore pleased the Lord to remove from our midst, David Joubert, Sr. we extend our most sincere condolences to the Joubert, McKoy and McCampbell families.We look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. David, Sr. ran his life’s race and finished his course on time and in God’s divine timing.
Whereas his sudden departure has left a void in our lives and heaviness in our hearts. He is irreplaceable and has left an indelible mark on each of our lives. We therefore commend you to the comfort and care of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
In this time of grief and sorrow we implore you, seek solace in the manifold treasures bequeathed to us in the Holy Writ. Assuredly, David rests in the bosom of Abraham awaiting our arrival. And there will we rejoice together, seated at the right hand of the Father. What a day that shall be, when we all get to Heaven! Until that day, precious memories shall be our portion.
May the peace of God Almighty be your strength in this difficult time and may He raise your heads as you lift your voices in Total Praise to Him.
He is worthy of our continued adoration, even in this. He will cause you to smile again, even after this and He will undoubtedly give you joy, even through this.
