In what was more like an impromptu listening party, Erica Campbell treated Dallas fans to select tracks from her brand new project, "Help". The night was sponsored by KHVN 970 AM who graciously allowed fans the up close and personal opportunity to meet and take pictures with Campbell.
The night was off to a fast start with opening acts from right here in Dallas, the DC Mimers, Dynahsti and Eva McCullar. Fans were undoubtedly disappointed when Campbell announced that she was under Doctor's orders not to sing, but fans were treated to a sing along via cd tracks and a young girl even got into the act singing the title track: "Help". It was a great night in Dallas and a great night to be a gospel music lover.
Special thanks to the KHVN staff for facilitating the event. Fans also had the privilege to meet on air personalities from the station as well. The night was hosted by Carmina Barnett, and attended by KHVN staff: Shanon Jay, Dr. Robert Ashley, Jamilah Camp, Dareia Tolbert and Deonte Graham and Tanya Mortensen.
Erica ministered to the crowd speaking on her dream coming to fruition saying "God didn't forget my dream!" She and her sister didn't team up until one fateful Sunday at church when Tina's original partner Erica (no relation) couldn't make the performance. Her sister stepped in and they noted the natural vocal chemistry between the two. At her husband Warryn's suggestion, the two paired up to become the duo known as Mary Mary.
As the "Meet & Greet" wrapped up, Erica told the story of how her daughter Krista would walk through the house and how she cried out for her mommy "help me...!" from another room. Though her voice was faint she was 2 years old at the time) her mother heard her and ran to rescue her. Erica encouraged the crowd that the Lord hears even our faintest cries for help.
"Help" is available in stores and digital outlets nationwide.
