Kim Krenik
At the wee age of 3, Kim's favorite pastime was to stand on the brick fireplace of her living room with a screw driver in hand for a microphone, holding a tennis racket as if it were her guitar. There she would stand, makingup ridiculous songsfor anyone who wouldsit and humor her. Not much has changed. Well, except for the fact that she can actually play a guitar and she prefers a Sure Beta 58 over the screw driver. To this day, the stage is like her living room, a comfortable second home.
Another thing that has changed, Kim sings with a purpose in mind. "I want to know that when I sing, people don't just think, 'nice voice' or 'cool song'. Making music is fun! But it is more than that for me. I believe it is a gift that has been entrusted to me. I always pray that God will speak to the hearts of those who hear my songs, that something authentic and a work of the spirit takes place."
Just out of high school, Kim toured the US and Great Britain with The Continental Singers. She returned to Scotland and N. Ireland a few years later with a band called "The Herald." She has performed in Thailand, Bolivia, Germany and Mexico and worked as a Disneyland Singer in the Anaheim park.
Kim fell in love with the recording process in high school, and has since recorded four projects of her original music and has had two other artists cut her song, "The Lion". She has had the privilege of working with very gifted producers including John Pisciotta (Sony, Paradiso Music, Ripcord Music Group) and Douglas Ott (Enchant). Some of her most popular recordings include "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," a duet recorded with progressive rock artist, Ted Leonard (Enchant and Spocks Beard) as well as her songs, "The Lion" and "Call Me Crazy." All have had international radio recognition and airtime.
Kim is the wife of Senior Pastor Rob Krenik. They minister together at Calvary Chapel Tracy, California where she is a worship leader. She continues to perform at various venues and she teaches Voice and Piano at Main Street Music in Tracy and at Legend Music in Manteca. Kim and Rob have four spirited little blessings: Nathan, Keira, Lucas and Bethan
