Amanda Grace
I am a student, teacher, and a lover of music. I am a graduate of Winona State University in Winona, MN where I live with my husband and two children. At WSU I earned a degree in communication studies and music.
I have self-published two albums through Rainbow Skies Music Publishing (ASCAP) since I began in 2009. My first, “Trains, Cars & A Trip To Mars” was started in the fall of 2009 as I began songwriting to entertain my children at home. It includes my personal favorite, “You Are My Sunshine” and the rest of the songs were inspired by some funny or sweet moment I had with my kids at home.
I began a more serious pursuit of sharing my music after losing my nephew to cancer; as my family and I helped with the music for the funerals of both my nephew (Bryce, 2006) and then soon after his father (Tim, 2008). Our sister is now happily remarried and just delivered her 5th little baby boy!!!
My second album “Embrace” was released in August 2012. Embrace is an Alternative album with 16 songs including two cover songs. My sister Mina Lewis sang “Aint No Way” by Franklin and I covered, “At Last.” Most of the music is my writing; and two pieces were co-written by myself and Linda Corey, who overcame cancer and wanted to share her journey. These are titled, “You Can Win” & “Pages Of My Heart.” Mina also wrote her first song, “Rooted Love.” Local artists/musicians featured on this album are: Aleah Harvey, Jake Ilika, Scott Lochner, John Stampka, Jim Trouten & Rich McDonald.
